Olympic Games 2024: The Viral Image from France vs. Japan - The Tallest and Shortest Players of the Tournament!

A photograph that will go down in history was captured on the fourth day of the Olympic Games in Paris.

In the basketball tournament, specifically during the France-Japan game, the tallest and shortest players in the sport faced each other, giving us an unforgettable image.

On one side was Victor Wembanyama, the tallest player in the Olympic Games at 2.22 meters, and on the other side was Yuki Togashi, the shortest player in the tournament, standing at 1.67 meters.

The match brought the two players face-to-face, and as you can see, the height difference is striking.

As FIBA wrote in an Instagram post, it is a historic photo concerning the Olympic Games.

Togashi has spent most of his professional career in Japan but had a stint in the NBA's developmental league during the 2014-15 season. After an injury, he returned to Japan, starting from the 2015-16 season as a member of the Chiba Jets. This marks the Japanese player's second Olympic appearance.

On the other hand, Wembanyama is making his first appearance at the Olympic Games. The 20-year-old had a historic first season with the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game over 71 games and winning the "Rookie of the Year" award.

Furthermore, the French player finished second in the voting for the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year.

For the record, France won in overtime with a score of 94-90.
